IPF Champion Spotlight: Crystal Khalil
At Caring For Others, we believe leadership isn’t just a title—it’s a commitment to action. Our Board of Directors is composed of hands-on experts who refuse to stay behind a desk. Whether they are providing strategic oversight for our domestic outreach or working on-site with International Poverty Forum (IPF) projects across the globe, every member is an active participant in our mission.
By working side-by-side with the communities we serve—from our local distribution hubs to our international partners—our leadership ensures that every strategy we implement is rooted in dignity, respect, and measurable change.
Meet Crystal Khalil
Crystal is our Board Chair at Caring For Others. For more than a decade, she has been a driving force behind the International Poverty Forum. As a dedicated change agent, she is focused on bridging the gap between discussing the "idea" of poverty and delivering tangible, life-changing results.
Crystal’s journey with us began over 11 years ago, when she was serving as Head of Procurement at Porsche. Even at the height of her corporate career, she remained intentional about aligning professional success with a higher purpose.
Today, as our Board Chair, Crystal moves beyond the strategy of the boardroom and into the heart of the work. She advocates for a "hand up, not a handout," believing that true impact happens when leaders trade their titles for t-shirts and serve directly on the front lines. To Crystal, the IPF is more than an annual meeting; it is a year-round movement where "being present" is the first step toward lasting empowerment.
The Vision
Crystal sees the future of this work as something far greater than a single organization. She recently shared her ultimate goal for the momentum we are building:
"I want this to catch like a movement—a wildfire. We are only touching the surface right now. My hope is that the IPF becomes the global hub where any organization—whether they do housing, health, or food—can plug in, share best practices, and use our blueprint to eradicate poverty once and for all."
The Full Story
Crystal recently shared her personal reflections on why she has stayed committed to this work for over a decade and why she believes "you can’t unfeel" the experience of serving others. Check out the link below to read more:
